Speaking Truth...

I understand that there are many who are against Church Leaders who use their pulpit to influence the direction of their congregation and/or followers to a particular candidate. Their message can be diluted by partisan attacks and false accusations that do not represent the candidates, and forever blurs the line between church and state.

I, for one, have seen the Pat Robertson's, Jerry Falwell's, James Dobson's and many more take their message and use it to preach the prosperity gospel, when they are the ONLY ones reaping the profits! It sickens me; however, my voice is drowned out by the blind obedience of their followers. Yet, I digress...

While I sat and read the daily postings, I happened to run across a video that was so profound that it caused a conflict (within me) with the belief that we should not have a political discourse within the church. I have seen soldiers who were singled out because they DID NOT believe in God. They were discriminated against, and (in some cases) put on the front line, because it was said by some commanders "...they don't have a God, so they have nothing to live for..."

The speaker in this video, while speaking eloquently and truthfully, could be misinterpreted for his speech and could add some justification about the very subject posed in the beginning of this diary. Unfortunately, some do not confront race in a constructive manner. The disagreements sometimes degrade into self-induced hatred that is undeeded during these perilous times. I feel that OBAMA has risen above that pettiness. Still, there is an imbalance that remains, and I think we can all acknowledge that.

Still, I would ask that you take the time to watch this video, and judge for yourselves, and I am asking this question...

Does the end justify the means?
